Unconscious biases in the work environment
The unconscious biases also affect our work-professional context and have a direct influence on how we encounter people in the work context. For example, skin color, social origin, ethnicity, and gender fundamentally play a role, and the resulting associations can lead to biases in how we judge people. By quickly and automatically categorizing people into social groups based on certain characteristics, we unconsciously ascribe to them features associated with that particular group. This categorization makes it difficult to perceive people in their unique individuality with their particular talents. Such prejudices often prevent people from benefiting fully from diverse teams. However, it has been shown that a diverse workforce can benefit both the productivity and the corporate culture of a company. PAYBACK therefore aims to promote a diverse and heterogeneous workforce and encourages each individual to actively address their own "unconscious bias".
Because: even if we fight against unconscious biases in our business environment, we still fall into the Unconscious Bias Trap again and again. Probably each of us has already observed one or more situations from the BUBBLE video sequences.
