From the 3rd day of illness (attention, the weekend counts) you are obliged to request a certificate of incapacity for work from the doctor. In Self Service, please enter your times of absence, the certificate is no longer necessary. Important: For people with statutory health insurance, this obligation to upload a document has been eliminated since January 2023, as doctors send an electronic certificate to the health insurance companies, which we as employers can retrieve. However, since this process does not always work yet, those with statutory insurance can also use the upload function in the tool. Nevertheless, report sick for each day via the portal in any case. Privately insured please upload directly the certificate of incapacity for work in the Self Service from the 3rd day.
